Disney Fan Theory Buster

So lets talk about fan theories. They're fun to think about but at the same time, there has to be proof behind it. The ones thinking these theories posted below have no shred of proof that Frozen is connected to films like Tangled and Little Mermaid.

Lets look at each theory in detail.

Theories 1 and 2. Anna and Elsa being Rapunzels Cousins and the King and Queen of Arendelle heading to Rapunzels Wedding.

We know that Disney made a Tangled short called "Tangled Ever After" that showed Rapunzel and Eugene getting married. The 2nd theory posted above indicates that the King and Queen were on their way to Rapunzels wedding. Where they were going when they died at sea remains a mystery and there is nothing that indicates that they got an invitation to that wedding. The assumption by fans is that Elsa's Coronation took place 3 years after her parents were lost which is the same year length with Tangled and Frozen (Tangled was released in 2010, Frozen in 2013). It should be noted also that the Tangled short was released 2 years after the film was released and a year before Frozen came out. The years in between the release of 2 films should not reflect the timeline in the films themselves.

There is also confusion on the years that both films takes place in. The directors of Tangled have stated that the film takes place in  1780 (see here: http://collider.com/byron-howard-nathan-greno-interview-tangled) . Frozen takes place in 1840. Therefore, it would not have been possible for both the King and Queen of Arendelle to be heading to Rapunzels wedding and for Rapunzel and Eugene to be showing up to Elsas Coronation in real life. Rapunzel and Eugene's Cameo in Frozen is nothing more than an Easter Egg, a common tactic by the Disney Animation Studio to put in some fun stuff to look for in the films.

As for the blood relation between Rapunzel and the 2 Arendelle sisters, its still not likely that they are related as a result of the time separation of all 3 and the fact that Rapunzel is from another region in Europe. Both stories that Tangled and Frozen are based on take place in 2 different regions but both kingdoms have a different influence. While Rapunzel is of German origin, the story takes place in the fictional kingdom of Corona which is based on several European countries. Arendelle in Frozen however is Norwegian inspired even though the Snow Queen story originated in Denmark. Again, also take into account that both films take place in different eras as well. Disney is known for setting some of their adaptions in places different from the places in the books.

With that, the first 2 theories are busted.

Theory #3: The ship that Ariel encounters in the beginning of "The Little Mermaid" is the one that the King and Queen of Arendelle were in.

This is another theory that is also false. While both Frozen and the Little Mermaid stories originated from the same author and country (Denmark) there is nothing to suggest that both movies take place in the same area. Prince Eric's castle is of Denmark design but the location of that castle implies that its in the Caribbean, which would mean that both Arendelle and Prince Eric were on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Also take into account that Arendelle is not in Denmark as its inspired by Norway. The ship design of the shipwreck in the Little Mermaid is also wrong.

The ship in the Little Mermaid

The Ship in Frozen

The designs of the ships in both films are different. The Arendelle vessel was based on Clippers which was a popular ship type back in the 19th century. The ship in the Little Mermaid was likely a "Ship of the Line" back in the 18th century. Also note the sterns of both ships. They don't match up. The ship in the Little Mermaid likely sank sometime in the late 1700s. Ships decompose at different rates depending on the material of the vessels and the environment that the ship is in.

As there is nothing else to connect these films, this Theory is busted.

Theory #4: The Queen of Arendelle gives birth to Tarzan and they end up in Africa.

This is one theory that has so many red flags of it being wrong.

A.) Tarzan in both the movie and books is of British origin. The King and Queen is of Norwegian orgin.
B.) The ship that Tarzan and his parents were on in the beginning of the film was on fire, being sunk in a thunderstorm that consumed the ship. The ship that the King and Queen of Arendelle was on never caught on fire.
C.) It would've been at least a year until the Queen would've given birth to Tarzan. They were supposed to be out of Arendelle for 2 weeks. Even if the Queen was to be pregnant during the trip, there wouldn't be any time for the baby to develop before being born so the unborn child would die with them in the sinking.
D.) The clothing of Tarzans parents is also a red flag. The clothes scream England not Norway.
E.) Like the Tangled Theory, its never known where the King and Queen in Frozen were going. And they would most likely not have been going on an expedition in West Africa.
F.) Tarzans Parents look nothing like the King and Queen from Arendelle. In fact, the hair of Tarzans Mother and the Queen are of different looks and color, the same said for the King and Tarzans father.

So in conclusion:

1.) All theories are based on coincidences by some of the fans and not on the origins and locations of Tangled, Frozen, the Little Mermaid and Tarzan.

2.) They don't have any backups to the claims in all the pictures of the theories.

3.) Its an attempt by some fans to connect all the films even though the films are made to be in their own universes and not in a single universe like Marvel.

All of these 4 theories are hereby busted.
